Wei Jingye's "Cornices" furniture collection, developed in Shenyang and showcased at the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts Museum in June 2024, has earned international acclaim by winning the Silver A' Furniture Design Award 2025. Drawing inspiration from the sweeping eaves of ancient Chinese buildings, the series reinterprets these iconic cornices into the forms of chairs, flower racks, palace lamps, and cabinet shelves. The result is a visually dynamic and culturally resonant suite of furniture that bridges the past and present.

The "Cornices" series stands out for its innovative fusion of traditional Chinese architectural motifs with a modern, minimalist design philosophy. Each piece is crafted from North American black walnut, utilizing time-honored mortise and tenon joinery to ensure both structural stability and refined elegance. The interplay between the dark wood and the soft, flowing lines of the cornice-inspired forms creates a striking harmony, while the meticulous craftsmanship highlights the enduring beauty and technical prowess of Chinese furniture-making traditions.
