Wei Jingye's Bamboo Leisure Chair, winner of the Iron A' Design Award in 2021, is a stunning fusion of nature and comfort. Inspired by the morphological elements of morning glory, the chair's seat back and surface mimic the unfolding petals, offering a sense of security and relaxation. The innovative use of woven bamboo surface showcases the material's toughness and elasticity, providing a unique and comfortable seating experience.

The chair's round bamboo frame and woven surface create a tranquil and comfortable atmosphere, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The use of bamboo's natural form and the weaving technique allows for a relaxed and visually appealing experience, while the chair's sturdy triangular structure ensures stability.

Constructed entirely from round bamboo material, the chair's frame is polished and connected using a wrapping technique, highlighting the material's natural properties. The seat surface and back are handcrafted through braiding, further emphasizing the chair's unique design and attention to detail.

Measuring 1325mm x 1240mm x 1170mm, the Bamboo Leisure Chair offers ample space for relaxation. Its lightweight nature, attributed to bamboo's properties, makes it convenient to move and position as desired.

Wei Jingye's design process began in Shenyang in November 2020 and was completed in January 2021. The chair's design is a result of extensive research, combining the form elements of morning glory with the eco-friendly nature of bamboo, providing a serene and caring seating solution.

The Bamboo Leisure Chair's innovative use of bamboo and weaving techniques overcame creative and technical challenges, resulting in a comfortable, agile, and visually striking piece of furniture.
