Mirae-N Design Team's "Coexistence and Connection" textbook, designed in Seoul and set for release in South Korean high schools in March 2025, has been honored with the Bronze A' Design Award for its creative approach to engaging students and promoting curiosity in geography education.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Mirae-N Design Team has reimagined the high school geography textbook with "Coexistence and Connection," a project that moves beyond conventional educational materials to spark student curiosity and creativity. Developed in Seoul from April to June 2024 and reviewed by the Ministry of Education in September, the textbook will be introduced in South Korean high schools starting March 2025. The project recently received the Bronze A' Design Award in the Education, Teaching Aid and Training Content category, recognizing its outstanding blend of design, functionality, and educational value.
Inspired by the diverse landscapes, cultures, and climates that geography seeks to explore, the design team incorporated detailed illustrations and vibrant visuals to make the subject matter more accessible and engaging. The cover art, crafted by illustrator mmmeari, conveys a message of mutual coexistence and the importance of understanding the varied spaces we inhabit. The team's collaborative approach ensured that the textbook not only meets academic standards but also provides a visually stimulating experience that encourages students to think beyond traditional learning frameworks.
Special attention was paid to the physical properties of the textbook, with sizes tailored for ease of use and materials chosen for durability and comfort. The "Global Citizens and Geography" volume measures 220 x 285 x 8mm, while the "Geographic Map" edition is slightly larger to facilitate map reading. The use of high-quality color printing and protective coatings ensures that the books remain vibrant and resilient through daily classroom use. This thoughtful design, combined with practical research into student needs and market trends, positions "Coexistence and Connection" as a model for future educational resources.
