Yilmaz Dogan's latest creation, the Flow sideboard, has been recognized with the Iron A' Furniture Design Award 2025, celebrating its innovative approach to merging classic Streamline aesthetics with contemporary design. Conceived and completed in Ankara in 2024, Flow draws inspiration from the aerodynamic forms of the 1930s, a period renowned for its emphasis on speed, efficiency, and fluid lines. The sideboard's design pays homage to the era's spirit of modernism while introducing a fresh, retro-futuristic perspective.

Flow distinguishes itself through its harmonious blend of curved wooden modules, custom metal components, and a matte lacquer finish accented with copper-toned details. Its unconventional, angled legs and specialized opening systems for drawers and cabinets not only evoke a sense of movement but also enhance user experience with smooth, touch-activated mechanisms. The piece offers ample and flexible storage, with compartments of varying depths and sizes, making it as practical as it is visually striking.

The realization of Flow involved high-precision CNC shaping and meticulous craftsmanship, ensuring both structural integrity and aesthetic refinement. The design process was rooted in extensive research on the Streamline style's material usage and aerodynamic principles, resulting in a seamless integration of wood and metal. Overcoming the challenge of balancing fluid form with everyday functionality, Dogan succeeded in creating a sideboard that stands as a testament to timeless design, bridging the gap between past inspirations and present-day innovation.
