Lu Yi's Rhythm desk is a stunning fusion of ancient Chinese architectural techniques and modern design, drawing inspiration from the structural beauty of ancient wooden buildings in China. The desk, made of black walnut, features a unique Chinese tenon and mortise structure, reflecting the elegance and charm of Oriental design.
The desk, measuring 1800mm x 800mm x 700mm, is a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship and thoughtful design process. The combination of CNC and manual grinding techniques has been employed to bring this exceptional piece to life, offering a perfect balance of tradition and innovation.
Designed in Shenyang, China, from September 2021 to March 2022, the Rhythm desk was showcased at the SYID art furniture exhibition, where it garnered acclaim for its seamless integration of historical inspiration with contemporary functionality.
