Renowned designer Shinjiro Heshiki, of Conception, has unveiled the innovative Hohobare Amahare, a distinctive restaurant and champagne bar concept located in Naha, Okinawa. The project was initiated in January 2021 and completed in May 2021, offering a unique dining experience that transitions from day to night seamlessly. The design was commissioned by the Michelin-starred restaurant Ishigaki Yoshida in Azabu, Tokyo, and represents a fusion of tradition and modernity.
The design features a wall adorned with objet d'art representing the spawning of coral, symbolizing the energy of the sun and the full moon, creating a visually stunning and immersive space. The restaurant space is carefully crafted to provide high added value, catering to customers with discerning tastes and a penchant for sophistication.
The project presented several challenges, including the need to infuse luxury and a special Okinawan touch within a small space, while effectively conveying the different business concepts for day and night. The result is a space that exudes luxury and elegance, incorporating traditional Okinawan elements such as red lacquer and gold leaf Japanese paper.
