Shinjiro Heshiki's Sweets De Pineapple: A Unique and Entertaining Space in Nago City, Okinawa, Japan
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Renowned designer Shinjiro Heshiki introduces Sweets De Pineapple, a whimsical theme park shop and bakery located in Nago City, Okinawa, Japan. Inspired by the success of the Silver A' Design Award-winning winery lounge, this space aims to uplift visitors with its original snacks, shopping experience, and captivating theme park-like ambiance.
The design of Sweets De Pineapple is characterized by its extensive use of pineapple motifs throughout the space, including the floors, walls, ceilings, columns, doors, glass, fixtures, and lighting. This unique approach naturally guides visitors towards the pineapple factory and winery, creating a seamless and immersive experience.
Utilizing innovative technology and meticulous attention to detail, the space features textured materials such as wood, steel, and aluminum to craft a visually engaging environment. Three-dimensional wooden objet d'art fixtures with pineapple motifs and impressive pineapple leaf designs on the ceiling further contribute to the overall theme park aesthetic.
Commissioned in August 2019, the construction of Sweets De Pineapple was completed in March 2020. However, due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the official opening was delayed until August 2021. Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic, the space continues to captivate visitors with its unique design and immersive atmosphere.
Shinjiro Heshiki's Sweets De Pineapple has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2022, honoring its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that authentically embodies experience and resourcefulness. This prestigious accolade celebrates the space's contribution to quality of life improvements, making it a must-visit destination in Nago City, Okinawa, Japan.
