The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) unveiled two distinctive pavilions at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2024, earning the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Event and Happening Design category. The event, which took place from November 5 to 10, 2024, at the Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center, provided a vital platform for Hong Kong companies to promote their branded products and services to the mainland China market. The pavilions were meticulously designed to reflect Hong Kong's vibrant culture, integrating traditional architectural elements, dynamic forms, and sustainable materials to create a visually captivating and functional exhibition space.
The Product Pavilion, themed "Food Gallery," spanned approximately 1,000 square meters and featured a two-layer champagne gold metal structure, transparent accent panels, marble-patterned walls, and an LED scrolling display board. This pavilion hosted 44 exhibitors showcasing food and health-related products, with interactive cooking demonstrations and vibrant colors that brought Hong Kong's culinary richness to life. The Service Pavilion, covering 500 square meters, was designed with a dynamic, arched structure and colorful patterns, embodying the energetic rhythm of Hong Kong's bustling streets. Eighteen exhibitors from professional services and logistics sectors engaged with buyers, fostering new business and partnership opportunities.
HKTDC's design team prioritized sustainability by employing reusable framing systems, eco-friendly materials, and advanced LED technology, significantly reducing onsite waste and environmental impact. The strategic layout and impactful lighting effects enhanced visibility and attracted visitors from across the exhibition hall, while modular planning and efficient logistics ensured smooth installation despite tight schedules and site access limitations. The pavilions' innovative approach not only elevated the presence of Hong Kong brands at CIIE 2024 but also set a benchmark for sustainable and culturally resonant exhibition design, culminating in the receipt of the Gold Booth Design Award and international recognition from the A' Design Award jury.
