Yumeng Li's Hui House is a limited edition art book that showcases the fading heritage of Hui-style architecture, fusing southern lofted structures with northern courtyard layouts. The book offers a unique educational and exhibitive tool for preserving and understanding architectural heritage.
The 3D slicing technology transforms traditional 2D images into immersive 3D panoramas of Hui-style architecture, while the acetate fiber printing enhances visual depth and clarity, forming interactive "windows" that detail spatial references and proportions of Hui-style buildings.
The art book, awarded Bronze in A' Print and Published Media Design Award in 2024, was launched in Jan 2023 in Boston and finished in Oct 2023, with prototypes bound in Suzhou, China. It was exhibited in HuiZhou Museum and Bengbu Museum, China.
