Kris Lin's Courtyard Design, a Public Space Inspired by Traditional Chinese Architecture, Wins Bronze A' Design Award
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kris Lin's Courtyard design, inspired by the traditional Chinese architecture of the three-entry home, has been awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. The project, located in a high-end residential area in Shenyang, China, serves as a public space in the lobby and foyer, providing residents with a spiritual homeward journey.
The 600sqm space incorporates the three-entry model of the outer court, inner courtyard, and inner house, symbolizing the journey from the outer world to the inner sanctum of home. The design features a water promenade representing the road to return home, with elements such as a bridge, pool, gable, tea room, and plum blossom shaping the courtyard space and scene.
Completed in October 2019, the Courtyard Design was exhibited in Shenyang, China. Kris Lin, along with Jiayu Yang, led the design team, aiming to create a space that washes away the exhaustion of the mundane world and provides a warm and welcoming environment for the residents.
