Sha Yang's Elephant Weight is a math early education toy inspired by the traditional Chinese story "Cao Chong Weighs the Elephant". This innovative toy aims to enhance children's sensitivity to weight and numbers, strengthening their careful observation of small objects around them.

Elephant Weight: Enhancing Math Education for Children

Elephant Weight is a unique math early education toy for children over 3 years old, developed from the concept of "equivalent replacement" in the story of "Cao Chong Weighs the Elephant". Each small elephant weight is marked with 5g, 10g, 20g, 30g, 40g, 50g, and 100g, allowing children to feel the weight of different scales and enhance their sensitivity to numbers and weight. The toy measures 270mm long, 150mm wide, and 130mm high, providing an interactive learning experience for children.

The toy is realized using CNC processing, painting, and manual glue dropping, ensuring high-quality production standards. The project, which took place in Shanghai from March 2022 to March 2023, aimed to provide a valuable educational tool for children's early math development.

Sha Yang's design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2023, recognizing its practical and innovative contributions to math education for children. The toy's unique approach to integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics has garnered acclaim in the design community.
