Fundesign.tv unveils "Literature Senses," a unique multi-sensory experience at the Yeh Shyr-Tau literary memorial museum in Tainan, Taiwan, blending literature with the five senses.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Fundesign.tv has unveiled "Literature Senses," a groundbreaking multi-sensory experience at the Yeh Shyr-Tau literary memorial museum in Tainan, Taiwan. Inspired by the renowned Taiwanese writer Yeh Shyr-Tau, the exhibition aims to create a literary compound space suitable for modern use, engaging visitors through sight, sound, taste, smell, and touch.
The museum, housed in a nearly 100-year-old building, brings to life the emotional atmosphere of the writer's words through the five senses, offering a unique and immersive experience. The exhibition incorporates Yeh's elements into the design of the cafe, surrounding visitors with text silhouettes, table decorations, menus, and meals featuring excerpts of famous sentences or short essays.
The project, which began renovation in October 2021 and opened to the public in November 2021, spans a total of 270 square meters across two floors, offering a comprehensive exploration of Yeh Shyr-Tau's literary legacy. Visitors can expect to encounter the world of Yeh's novels step by step, with characters' names displayed under the ceiling of the cloister, alluding to the multiverse time and space constructed by Yeh's novels.
Through the integration of exhibitions, catering, cultural and creative stores, and market spaces, Fundesign.tv has transformed the Yeh Shyr-Tau literary memorial museum into an engaging and open form of contact with the public. The museum provides a context for understanding Yeh's life and work in a permanent exhibition, making it a literary open space by recreating the interior of Yeh's novel and constructing the landscape of Yeh's scenes from his books.
