Fundesign.tv presents the central art installation for the Youth Story exhibition at Taiwan Design EXPO
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Fundesign.tv unveils the "Story Index" art installation, a central feature at the entrance of the Youth Story exhibition during the Taiwan Design EXPO. The installation aims to bridge the gap between the virtual and real worlds, using a giant screen matrix to showcase the virtual world in reality. It reflects the constant presence of network signals and stories in our daily lives, offering a unique and immersive experience.
The "Story Index" is a visual representation of the interdependence between mobile phones and people, with each frame in the story serving as a designed picture. The giant screen matrix materializes the boundaries between reality and the Internet, reflecting the current lives of people. The installation offers a captivating display of personal and collective stories, blurring the lines between individual and shared experiences.
Constructed using 100 televisions and a truss structure over 150 meters long, the "Story Index" spans a display space that is 20 meters wide, 10 meters high, and 20 meters long. The installation utilizes over 200 meters of network cable and HDMI cable combined, creating a visually stunning and technically impressive showcase.
The "Story Index" encourages audience participation by displaying content from over 5,000 accounts across various categories such as design, architecture, fashion, food, and more. By uploading real-time dynamic content and tagging the organizers, participants have the chance to see their content featured on the giant screen matrix, transforming on-site participation into online promotion.
The installation is set to run from September 30, 2022, to October 23, 2022, at the Design Zone Kaohsiung Port Warehouse No. 6 of the Pier-2 Art Center in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. It was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Interactive, Experiential, and Design Installations category in 2023, recognizing its outstanding creativity and innovation.
