Meet Diag, a versatile desk designed for both residential and office spaces, presented by Marek Blazucki at the Meble Polska 2019 International Furniture Fair in PoznaÅ
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Marek Blazucki introduces Diag, a simple yet modern desk designed to meet the needs of both residential and office spaces. The inspiration behind Diag stemmed from the designer's own thoughts on the conditions and functionality of a desk. The main goal was to create a piece of furniture that seamlessly integrates into various environments while offering an original solution for storing writing instruments.
Diag stands out with its slightly raised and curved edges, preventing items from falling, and notches dedicated to holding optional leather organizers. The desk is available in veneer and solid wood or lacquered MDF versions, with a choice of brushed stainless steel or anthracite structural lacquered base.
The desk's metal base is available in structural anthracite lacquer or brushed stainless steel, with top finishing options including oak or walnut veneer, or solid color lacquer. Diag's dimensions are 1440 x 720 x 888 mm.
The Diag project was positively received during fair presentations, with attention drawn to its attractive form and optional aspects, such as raised edges to prevent items from falling off the top and the availability of accessories. The project was first presented at the Meble Polska 2019 International Furniture Fair in PoznaÅ, where it was awarded the MTP Gold Medal in the Premier category.
One of the creative challenges of the Diag project was to propose a new form using a simple structure and a non-stereotypical solution for the storage function of accessories, reduced to a minimum.
Diag is a piece of furniture designed to stand by the wall or be free-standing. Its top structure is made of veneered block-board, with solid wood edges, and a steel base covered with textured paint.
The design is a winner of the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2022, recognized for its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that authenticates experience and resourcefulness.
