Ascanio Zocchi's Ska V29 dining table is a stunning representation of the aftermath of the storm Vaia in the Dolomites. The table top, made of fir wood, mirrors the chaos of fallen trees after the storm, while the burnished steel base symbolizes the strength and beauty of the forest before the calamity.
The table is meticulously crafted using fir wood from the storm-affected woods, with pieces cut using CNC machines and assembled with hidden joints. The finish, done with organic oil pigmented with Siena earth, adds to its natural allure. The base, made of iron tubes, is finished with scratchproof black oxide powder coating, ensuring both durability and elegance.
Measuring 165mm in length, 100mm in width, and standing at a height of 75mm, the Ska V29 is a testament to the designer's commitment to sustainability. The materials used are certified by the local Natural Park and PEFC, ensuring the table's environmental responsibility.
