Istanbul-based Box Design has been honored with the Bronze A' Design Award 2025 for Horus, a 50-meter motor yacht inspired by the eye of Horus and the four elements, blending luxury, sustainability, and advanced technology to redefine the modern yachting experience.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Box Design, a boutique studio from Istanbul, has achieved international recognition with its Horus motor yacht, which secured the Bronze A' Yacht and Marine Vessels Design Award for 2025. Drawing inspiration from the ancient symbol of Horus's eye and the four classical elements-earth, water, air, and fire-the yacht's design embodies harmony across physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual realms. The project commenced in January 2024 and was completed in May 2024, resulting in a vessel that stands out for its organic forms, dynamic lines, and integration of nature into both interior and exterior spaces.
Horus offers an unparalleled guest experience with a two-deck owner's suite and private terrace, along with four cabins themed after the four elements to create a unique atmosphere for each guest. The yacht is equipped with a swimming pool, jacuzzi, spa, hammam, gym, and expansive lounge areas, ensuring comfort and luxury at sea. Prioritizing sustainability, Horus features a diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system and azipod technology, enabling quiet, low-emission cruising and superior maneuverability. The hull and superstructure are crafted from lightweight aluminum alloy, further enhancing efficiency and performance.
Technically, Horus measures 49.95 meters in length with a semi-displacement hull, accommodating up to 10 guests and 9 crew members. It boasts a cruising speed of 12 knots, a maximum speed of 20 knots, and a range of 4,000 nautical miles, supported by advanced stabilizers for optimal comfort. The design process involved extensive research into eco-friendly technologies and innovative layouts, overcoming the challenge of fitting a diesel-electric system within a sub-500 GT, 50-meter frame while maximizing guest space. The result is a yacht that seamlessly merges cutting-edge engineering, environmental responsibility, and artistic vision-qualities recognized by the esteemed A' Design Award jury.
