CHINA -- /INNOVATION/newswire -- Jul 25, 2024

Chengdu-based design team Jobs Chin, Alon J, and Ye Nan have been honored with the Bronze A' Design Award 2025 for Ipick, a revolutionary wet toilet paper that features visible, embossed edges for easy, hygienic single-sheet separation, improving comfort and usability for individuals with sensitive toileting needs.

Ipick Wet Toilet Paper: Redefining Hygiene and Comfort with User-Centered Innovation

Ipick Wet Toilet Paper, developed by Jobs Chin, Alon J, and Ye Nan, has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award 2025 in the Beauty, Personal Care, and Cosmetic Products category. The product addresses a common frustration among users-difficulty in separating individual sheets of wet toilet paper-by introducing a patented pattern-embossing process that makes each sheet's edge clearly visible and easy to grasp. This innovation is especially beneficial for people experiencing constipation, hemorrhoids, or other sensitive toileting issues, offering a more comfortable and hygienic solution.

The design process for Ipick began in February 2024 in Chengdu and concluded in April 2024, culminating in recognition at the K-DESIGN AWARD 24. The team conducted extensive user-centered research, including interviews and product testing with 86 adults who have toileting issues. Results showed that 90% of participants found sheet separation easier, while 85% reported increased comfort. These findings informed the final design, which uses precision rollers to emboss micro-patterns and a specialized dyeing technique to ensure both visibility and skin gentleness.

Ipick's unique approach not only improves the user experience but also sets a new standard in personal care products. By making the edges of each sheet visible, users can quickly and smoothly pull out one sheet at a time, reducing waste and mess. The product's soft, moist texture provides gentle cleansing, making it ideal for those with sensitive skin. Overcoming challenges related to market acceptance and entrenched user habits, the Ipick team leveraged consumer insights and effective marketing to highlight the product's distinct advantages, establishing it as a standout innovation in the hygiene sector.
