FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Melty, designed by Tülin Atamer in Istanbul, has captured the Iron A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware, and Cookware category for 2025. This innovative collection of glass storage jars stands out for its artistic approach to everyday tableware, combining transparent glass bodies with acrylic lids and striking, sculptural handles in vivid colors. The project began in August 2023 and culminated in March 2024 after extensive research and development to achieve both aesthetic appeal and practical usability.
The Melty jars are available in four sizes, each featuring uniquely modeled handles in nine different colors. The handles, crafted from polyester and painted with auto acrylic paint, are securely mounted to the acrylic lids using screws, eliminating the need for adhesives. This meticulous production process ensures a glossy, smooth finish and lasting durability. The glass jars themselves are handmade, highlighting the artisanal quality of the collection while allowing for mass production through carefully developed molds and painting techniques.
Inspired by the concept of melting and flowing forms, Atamer aimed to create a product that elevates the presentation of food and storage in both domestic and hospitality settings. The ergonomic design of the handles ensures ease of use, while their sculptural presence adds a distinctive visual element to any table. Melty's recognition by the A' Design Award jury underscores its success in merging innovative design, technical excellence, and practical function, setting a new standard for contemporary tableware.
