"Focus" Modular Shower Brush Recognized for Innovation, Functionality, and Sustainable Design

"Focus," the latest creation from designer Yunsong Liu and his team, has received the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Beauty, Personal Care and Cosmetic Products category for 2025. Developed in Beijing between April and June 2024, Focus addresses the everyday challenges of personal hygiene by introducing a modular shower brush that adapts to users' changing needs, skin conditions, and preferences throughout the year. The award recognizes the product's outstanding technical innovation, user-centric design, and sustainable approach.

Inspired by the limitations of traditional shower brushes, which often require multiple tools for different body parts and skin conditions, Focus enables users to easily swap out handles and brush heads. The system includes four functional components that can be assembled into a long-handled brush for hard-to-reach areas or used independently for targeted cleaning. Each handle doubles as a refillable container for body wash or shampoo, allowing users to select scents and formulations that match their skin's seasonal needs or personal tastes. The modular design also means less waste and greater convenience, as users can quickly change components without replacing the entire tool.

Focus is crafted from recycled plastic, with bristles made of silicone and sponge, underscoring the team's commitment to sustainability. The innovative design was realized through extensive research, user interviews, and prototyping, including the adaptation of vacuum bottle technology for the refillable handles. The product's sleek, functional form ensures both aesthetic appeal and ergonomic comfort, while its magnetized components allow for easy storage and access in the shower. The recognition from the A' Design Award jury highlights Focus as a benchmark for excellence in both creative design and practical application within the personal care industry.
