Ariane Cristina da Rosa's "Fragments" collection has been recognized with the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in the Sustainable Products, Projects and Green Design category for 2025. Conceived in Itajai and unveiled at Araucaria Moveis in Itapema, Brazil, the collection reimagines the potential of discarded marble by transforming it into refined vases, candle holders, and a side table. Each piece is carved from the core of another, ensuring a zero-waste process that merges environmental consciousness with contemporary aesthetics.

Inspired by nature's ability to reshape materials over time, "Fragments" adopts a modular, nested approach that maximizes material efficiency. Advanced CNC stone-cutting technology, combined with traditional hand-finishing techniques, allows each object to emerge from the remnants of the previous, resulting in a harmonious set that celebrates both sustainability and craftsmanship. The collection's sculptural forms invite interaction, whether displayed individually or as a cohesive ensemble, and highlight the unique veining and imperfections inherent to marble.

The project's research-driven methodology demonstrates that high-end design can be both responsible and beautiful, challenging industry norms and encouraging a shift toward more conscious material use. Overcoming significant technical challenges, da Rosa and her team achieved nearly zero material loss while maintaining luxury standards.
