Sunrise Apartment: Award-Winning Minimalist Design Emphasizing Well-Being, Light, and Brazilian Craftsmanship

The Sunrise Apartment, designed by Gabriela Casagrande, stands as a testament to the power of architecture in promoting well-being and harmonious living. Inspired by the gentle renewal of morning light, the project transforms a 320m² space in Curitiba's Ecoville neighborhood into a tranquil urban retreat. With sweeping views of Barigui Park and the city skyline, the apartment leverages its privileged location and the region's unique climate to maximize natural light and thermal comfort, creating a serene environment for its residents.

Central to the design is a minimalist philosophy, where every element serves a purpose and enhances the sensory experience. Casagrande's approach integrates custom millwork, natural oak veneer, and limestone, resulting in seamless transitions between spaces and a cohesive aesthetic. Signature pieces, such as the bespoke gourmet table and the Dolomite Armchair-both designed by Casagrande and inspired by the Serra Paranaense-reinforce the apartment's unique identity and sense of lightness. The open layout and neutral palette further amplify the feeling of spaciousness, while carefully selected textiles and ergonomic furnishings support relaxation and togetherness.

The project's realization was made possible through advanced BIM technology, ensuring precision from civil engineering to interior detailing. This meticulous process allowed for the harmonious integration of built-in and loose furniture, balancing form and function without visual clutter. Guided by principles of neuroarchitecture, the Sunrise Apartment prioritizes materials and colors that foster calmness and well-being, making it a model for contemporary Brazilian design. The Silver A' Design Award recognizes the project's excellence, technical innovation, and its ability to evoke positive emotions and wonder through refined simplicity.
