Innovative Dual-Mode Wheeled Humanoid Robot Sets New Standards in Industrial Automation and Adaptability

Fan Wu and the team at Seer Robotics have launched a next-generation wheeled humanoid robot, engineered to transform industrial environments by relieving humans from hazardous, repetitive, and physically demanding tasks. Developed in Shanghai from January to August 2024 and unveiled at the Shanghai International Industry Fair, this robot is a direct response to the increasing need for intelligent, multifunctional automation in industries facing workforce shortages and productivity pressures.

The robot stands out for its unique dual-mode operation: in motion mode, it lowers its posture to achieve rapid movement speeds of up to 10 meters per second, while in work mode, it elevates to utilize its multi-degree-of-freedom arms and hands for complex task execution. Its modular design allows for quick assembly of components such as gripping arms and cameras, and users can assign tasks via natural language or a dedicated app. The robot's AI-driven system generates semantic 3D maps for precise navigation and obstacle avoidance, enabling seamless adaptation to a wide range of industrial scenarios.

Constructed from robust aluminum alloys and PEEK materials, the robot is built to withstand extreme industrial conditions, including high temperatures up to 260°C and a broad operational range from -25°C to 60°C. Its transparent arm joints and core controller facilitate easy maintenance, while the modular arms and hands allow for rapid replacement. Drawing on a decade of AI and robotics research, the robot's adaptive learning capabilities are powered by an extensive industrial database, ensuring continuous improvement and reliability in demanding environments. Recognized for its technical excellence and innovative design, the Seer Robotics humanoid robot was awarded Silver in the 2025 A' Robotics, Automaton and Automation Design Award.
