Wanping Theater Lighting Design: A Marvel of Architectural Brilliance

The Wanping Theater, designed by Tongji Architectural Design (Group) Co., Ltd, draws inspiration from the elegance of the "Folding Fan" in Chinese opera. The lighting design strategy, based on this concept, beautifully expresses the shape and texture of the facade, creating a unique blend of tradition and modernity. The project, covering 29,000 square meters, is located at No. 857 and 859, Zhongshan South 2nd Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai, and was completed in May 2021.

The Wanping Theater's lighting design sets it apart with its focus on visual brightness adaptation, vertical lighting, and high color rendering lamps, ensuring a captivating visual experience. The use of adjustable angle in-ground lights, floodlights, downlights, and LED strips showcases the innovative realization technology employed in this project.

The project's success is underscored by its recognition at the A' Design Award, where it received the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2022 for its exceptional creativity, technical prowess, and innovative approach to architectural lighting.
