FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Team JIZAI ARMS introduces JIZAI ARMS, a supernumerary robotic limb system designed to enable social interaction between wearers and explore possible interactions between digital cyborgs in a cyborg society. The system consists of a wearable base unit with detachable robotic arms, allowing for the exchange of arms between multiple wearers.
The system contains a wearable base unit with six terminals to attach arms and a communication board, along with robotic arms featuring 5 degrees of freedom. The exterior parts are designed with organic and complex shapes to cover only necessary parts and make it lighter, utilizing 3D printing for these complex shapes.
JIZAI ARMS was developed as part of the JST INAMI JIZAI BODY PROJECT and completed production in September 2022. It was first showcased in dance performances at the JIZAI Collection held in Tokyo in November 2022.
