Vaso Smart Indoor Garden System by Xiaoyu Zhang and Jiaxin Zou

Xiaoyu Zhang's Vaso is a revolutionary Smart Indoor Garden System designed to seamlessly integrate technology and nature, offering effortless plant care while minimizing waste and enhancing well-being through the calming presence of greenery in daily life.

Vaso waters plants based on soil humidity, offers easy plant placement, and relieves mental pressure. Crafted from recycled plastic, it embodies sustainability and minimalistic aesthetics, ensuring a seamless blend of eco-consciousness and elegance. Equipped with advanced sensors, Vaso automatically waters plants based on soil humidity levels, ensuring they receive just the right amount of hydration needed to flourish.

The project started in December 2022 in Los Angeles and produced the prototype in March 2023. Vaso was exhibited in the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany in 2023. The design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2024, recognizing its practical and innovative approach to sustainable living.

Passionate and skilled all-rounder Jiaxin Zou, with an MFA degree in Graphic Design and experience in UI/UX Design, played a crucial role in the creative process, ensuring the delivery of visually appealing and user-friendly designs.
