Acorny is equipped with cutting-edge physical computing technologies, utilizing a range of sensors and modules to create an interactive and educational experience. The product's design and realization process involved the use of advanced tools such as Rhinoceros, Keyshot, Adobe Illustrator, and 3D printing technology.
Acorny's dimensions and specifications are meticulously crafted to ensure a seamless user experience, with modules such as the Hub module, Logic module, and Input & Output modules offering diverse functionalities. The project, which commenced in January 2022 in Los Angeles and concluded in February 2022, was driven by the growing need to equip young children with essential computational skills. The design team conducted extensive research to understand the challenges in existing educational technology and developed Acorny as a solution to introduce core coding concepts to young learners.
Despite facing challenges in the prototyping phase, the team remains committed to leveraging 3D printing technology to enhance the usability and practicality of Acorny. The ultimate goal is to create a product that not only educates but also inspires young minds to explore the world of coding and computational thinking.
