Kazoo Design Unveils the Loop Candleholder, a Geometrically Inspired Home Decor Piece
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kazoo Design introduces the Loop Candleholder, a modern home accessory inspired by the infinity symbol, designed to add a touch of elegance to any space. The candleholder's unique design and accompanying tray offer both functionality and style, creating captivating infinite loop shadows when lit.
The Loop Candleholder draws inspiration from the infinity symbol, translating its geometric form into a modern home accessory. The challenge of this project was to connect three loops with each other while creating a fourth loop in the center to house a tall candleholder. The accompanying tray serves as a surface for the candleholder's melted wax and highlights the design's geometrical twists in the corners, adding an accentuating touch to the overall aesthetic.
The Loop candleholder, inspired by the concept of infinity, boasts a unique design that allows it to sit steadily on a coffee table while emitting captivating infinite loop shadows onto the surface below. The candleholder's elegant tray serves a dual purpose, not only catching any wax that drips but also functioning as a standalone decorative item for jewelry storage.
The design's initial prototype had been created on the computer, but the true challenge lay in transitioning a 3D digital product into physical production. Thus, the design of the mold posed as much of a challenge as the object itself. Candleholder dimensions are 160mm x 160mm x 90mm.
Loop candleholder can be easily transferred by holding one of the loops and positioning it on a table. It transforms the space with its geometrical aesthetics and when lit creates various nice loop shadows on the surface it is placed on.
The project took 200 hours until completion. The design was first started on a 3D application on the computer later printed to size and the prototype was well finessed so that the silicon mold could capture all the details. The silicon mold is based of 5 parts that are secured with 3D printed parts and bolts.
For more than 20 years, Zeynep and Kostas have been working with computer-generated imagery to create pre-viz for architecture, ads, short films, and visual effects in documentaries and movies. All these years have led up to the formation of their brand Kazoo, which is solely based around their passion to create. Kazoo design studio is a place where curiosity has no boundaries, ideas and inspiration can come any moment.
Kazoo objects are designed digitally, then a prototype is printed and post-processed, and molds are made to finally hand-cast copies. Materials that are currently used for the final products are: Ceramics, Porcelain, Polyurethane Resin, and Acrylic Resin. The future lies in combining technology with hand-crafting, and therefore all the products that have been crafted are produced with sustainability in mind. Zeynep and Kostas mostly produce their products in their boutique atelier and only collaborate with boutique local makers who can provide them with the highest quality of manufacturing.
