Akshata Chitnis Introduces "The Warrior in You" Game Design
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Akshata Chitnis presents "The Warrior in You," a game design addressing academic stress and mental health struggles among young students. The game aims to introduce healthy coping mechanisms and initiate conversations about well-being within households.
The game design is based on Play & Talk therapy, allowing kids to play out life experiences without feeling judged. By immersing into warrior characters, it normalizes well-being struggles and instills empathy for self and others.
The game components are meticulously crafted, with the base board and palace backdrop printed on sunboard for strength, while the islands and warrior boards are designed for stability and functionality. The unique illustrations are created using Adobe Illustrator, ensuring a visually appealing and engaging experience.
The game's simple yet engaging interactions involve navigating a maze-like board, earning well-being coins, and overcoming challenges. By integrating coping mechanisms within the storyline, "The Warrior in You" successfully balances entertainment and effective learning for children aged 10 and above.
The project, which commenced in October 2021 in Mumbai, India, was completed in April 2022. It draws from extensive research on academic stress and mental health challenges faced by students, aiming to empower them with healthy coping mechanisms from a young age.
Akshata Chitnis, known for her trans-disciplinary design background and expertise in behavioral psychology, product design, and gamification, has received international recognition for her innovative approach to design. Her commitment to societal impact and development is evident in her work, reflecting empathy and empowerment at the forefront.
