Introducing Case: The Future of Luggage Travel

NETHERLANDS -- /INNOVATION/newswire -- Aug 04, 2020

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Case: Redefining Luggage Travel

Arnaud Gillard's Case revolutionizes the future of luggage by envisioning a world where luggage travels separately from its owner, streamlining the travel experience and minimizing costly infrastructure. The Case is provided as part of an on-demand service, delivered from the user's home to the destination ahead of the traveler, eliminating the need to own and travel with luggage.

The Case, primarily made of hydroformed aluminum, leverages RFID, E-ink displays, electric locks, and digital scales to provide the best travel experience without the need for an internal battery. Its dimensions are standardized and optimized for logistics, measuring at 380mm x 580mm x 270mm (58 Litres), suitable for a 2-4 day trip. The cost of transporting the Case decreases drastically as the number of adopters increases, making it cheaper to have the Case travel separately than to travel with it.

Case operates through the case.travel app, allowing users to unlock, pack, and track their belongings. Once in transit, travelers can choose their preferred mode of transportation, knowing that their Case will arrive ahead of them. This groundbreaking design project, which started in October 2019 in Loughborough and finished in June 2020 in Amsterdam, was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2021 for its outstanding innovation and excellence.
