Jesvin Yeo unveils a unique 3D-embossed book capturing the vanishing traditional crafts of Singapore, available from March 2022
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jesvin Yeo's "Fading Traditional Trades and Crafts" is a captivating 3D-embossed book that meticulously documents the vanishing traditional crafts of Singapore. The book, which measures 140mm in width, 298mm in height, and 40mm in thickness, is a result of extensive research and collaboration with traditional artisans, aiming to preserve the intangible cultural heritage of the region.
The book's unique feature lies in its use of the 3D embossing technique to highlight the intricate details of the traditional crafts, such as dragon boats and Peranakan beaded shoes. With pastel chalk included, readers are encouraged to engage with the book by coloring its pages, symbolizing the rise and fall of these traditional crafts.
Starting its journey in May 2015, the project faced challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, causing production delays. However, the book is now set for release in March 2022, showcasing the resilience and dedication of the team in overcoming these obstacles.
