Glacier: Redefining Food Cleanliness and Quality of Life

sxdesign proudly presents Glacier, a cutting-edge kitchen appliance redefining food cleanliness and quality of life. Inspired by the purity of natural glaciers, Glacier is a food washing machine designed to effectively remove pesticide residuals, heavy metals, fertilizers, and bacteria, ensuring the utmost food safety for users. The design team's meticulous attention to detail and innovative use of materials have resulted in a product that not only cleanses food but also visually represents purity and high-quality living.

Glacier's main body is crafted with abstract iceberg polygons, symbolizing the cold, clean, and clear nature of glaciers. The use of large-scale instruction lights and transparent PC material adds a rich layering effect, enhancing the overall appeal of the machine. This unique design aims to resonate with users on a subconscious level, promoting a sense of stainlessness and a vision for a quality life.

Utilizing ABS and PC injection modeling, Glacier incorporates a hydroxyl water ion generator to degrade harmful substances in food, ensuring a thorough and effective cleaning process. With dimensions of 305mm x 410mm x 285mm, Glacier is available in black or white, offering a sleek and versatile addition to any kitchen.

Glacier features a large control panel with intuitive buttons for different food types, making operation simple and user-friendly. Users can select options such as "meat," "fruits," and "vegetables," streamlining the food cleaning process and enhancing convenience.

The project commenced in August 2020 in Beijing and was completed in December 2020 in Shenzhen, China. The design team overcame challenges by utilizing minimalist shapes to convey the machine's core function of cleaning, effectively portraying an attitude of high-quality living.

Recognizing the innovative and impactful nature of Glacier, the design was honored with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware, and Cookware Design category in 2021. This prestigious accolade acknowledges Glacier's outstanding design, creativity, and contribution to improving quality of life through its technical and creative prowess.
