Food waste accounts for a significant portion of domestic waste, posing environmental and health hazards. Vitality Family Garden offers a unique approach by utilizing earthworms to convert kitchen waste into nutrient-rich compost, fostering plant growth. The product's dimensions are as follows: box size - length 39 cm, width 15 cm, height 11 cm; planting lamp size - length 25 cm, height 13 cm, width 2.2 cm; planting pot size - length 7 cm, width 7 cm, height 5 cm.
The design incorporates mature indoor planting technology and LED lighting supplementation, making it suitable for mass production. Users can manually control the lighting mode through buttons, promoting independent composting and planting activities. The project has overcome challenges related to earthworm control and received guidance from insect biologists and agricultural experts.
Chaozhi Lin, Junjie Zhou, Yong Liu, Can Wang, Haitao Shi, and Xudong Yang collaborated on this project, combining their expertise in design, environmental sustainability, and agriculture. The team's dedication to sustainable development has been recognized with the Silver A' Design Award in 2021, highlighting their exceptional innovation and technical prowess.
