FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Designed by Ana BaniÄ Göttlicher and Ivana Peko, the Gla Gla puzzle is a unique educational souvenir that embodies the rich cultural heritage of the Croatian town of Krk. Inspired by the Glagolitic alphabet, a script significant in Croatian history, the puzzle serves as a tool for learning and preserving this ancient script.
The puzzle, made from black MDF and olive tree boards, is meticulously crafted using CNC technology and protected with linseed oil. Its 25 characters, representing the Glagolitic letters, are intricately linked to the Latin alphabet, facilitating easy learning and memory retention.
Unveiling the puzzle reveals the olive tree letters, accompanied by Latin letters for easier association and understanding. This interactive experience encourages users to form their first Glagolitic words by drawing the letter outlines on paper.
The Gla Gla puzzle measures 340 x 280 x 32 mm and was completed in March 2020 in Zagreb. It was exhibited at the Zagreb Design Week in August 2020, showcasing its cultural significance and educational value.
Protected by the State Intellectual Property Office, Croatia, and bearing the trademark "Gla Gla," this puzzle is a testament to the designers' commitment to preserving and promoting Croatian heritage.
