Discover the award-winning Little Thunder armchair, a timeless and robust piece designed to make a visual impact in any space.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Grasset François presents Little Thunder, an armchair born from the desire to create a geometrically stable seat using rigorously selected materials. The half-cylinder structure, inspired by the strength of a summer thunderstorm, provides both stability and a strong visual impact.
The Little Thunder armchair employs a vault shape, making it one of the most robust structures possible with the chosen materials. Its timeless design ensures it will be a prized piece for years to come, embodying environmentally and socially responsible design.
After adopting the vault structure, the design process progressed quickly, with meticulous fine-tuning to account for ergonomic factors. The manufacturing process requires specific skills, including multi-layer wood panels using large molds. The suggested model is lacquered with several color options or uses walnut wood veneer.
This stunning armchair measures 800mm in width, 630mm in depth, and 730mm in height.

The Little Thunder armchair is designed to create a visual impact, with its geometric curves and surprising character. It offers several finishes to match various indoor decorations, and further studies have yielded versions with wider armrests and strengthened, decorative bases.
The design process for this armchair began about a year and a half ago, with the study and production taking place in Chambéry, France. It was developed for both business and home uses, fitting perfectly in various settings such as offices, waiting rooms, living rooms, and home offices.
The challenge was to design a visually powerful furniture item that represents the company's diversification strategy and can be manufactured in small series, ideally by craftsmen.
The Little Thunder armchairâs design is based on precise geometrical shapes, harmonious curves, and reverse curves. It is structured around an architectural, graphic vault, making it energetic, surprising, and fascinating. The chair is made of laminated timber, with options for lacquering or wood veneer application and a comfortable leather cushion.
