FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Idan Herbet introduces the E Drum, an innovative kinetic electronic drums show designed to revolutionize the drummer's experience. The project, which debuted near the Dead Sea in Israel on Sep 22nd 2019, was inspired by the concept of a gyrosphere and aims to provide an extraordinary experience for the audience. The E Drum is a new way for drummers to interact with their instrument, offering a modular and dynamic space for performances.
The E Drum was developed by a team of musicians, tech light, and design experts, with a focus on creating a new platform that seamlessly integrates music, lighting, and space. The stage, consisting of three rings, is designed to be highly modular, allowing for easy transportation and assembly. The design incorporates 19 drums, each equipped with RGB pixel-controlled Neon Flex tubes, all controlled via Abelton Live. The lighting setup includes a variety of fixtures, including Robe 150beam, Nova 1light LED blinder, AntariM7 gazers, Cold Pyro gazers, Par LED RGBW, and Portman P1 lights, all controlled via GMA2.
The E Drum is an interactive platform that operates using MIDI technology, allowing the drummer to trigger lighting and video cues through their performance. The project required extensive research and development to overcome creative and technical challenges, ultimately resulting in a groundbreaking debut that merges sound, light, and space in a dynamic and innovative way.
