Aldis Blicsons Unveils the Award-Winning Choppy, a Sustainable and Tool-Free Assembly Bike Made in Latvia

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Choppy: The Next Step in Sustainable Kids' Transportation

Aldis Blicsons, along with Toms Grinbergs and Gatis Grandans, proudly presents Choppy, an innovative wooden balance bike designed for children up to 4 years of age. The project, which commenced in May 2016 and concluded in September 2021 in Riga, Latvia, was a logical progression from their previous award-winning Brum Brum Bike. Choppy is a sustainable and nature-friendly product that can be assembled without tools, offering a unique and engaging experience for young riders.

Choppy's innovative design and sustainable ethos are evident in every aspect of its creation. Crafted from Latvian-produced veneered birch plywood, the bike is a testament to the fusion of ancient woodworking traditions with modern solutions. The bike's construction features different polymer composites and minimal metal, ensuring a lightweight and eco-friendly ride for kids. The packaging box, made from FSC certified cardboard and assembled without glue, further reflects the commitment to sustainability.

Choppy's unique features include an adjustable seat and handlebars, a springy bike seat designed to protect the child's back, and the absence of standard metal bearings or screws, making it ultra-light and safe for young riders. The compact packaging box, which doubles as a board game with an adventure track printed on it, enhances the overall experience of owning a Choppy bike.

Aldis Blicsons and his team's dedication to creating a sustainable, tool-free assembly balance bike has been recognized with the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in the Toys, Games, and Hobby Products category in 2022. This accolade acknowledges Choppy's practical, innovative, and industry-leading design, setting a new standard for children's transportation products.
