Meet Kušs, the innovative sound absorption panels designed to bring calmness into any space, made from ecological and non-toxic materials.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Estere Savicka, in collaboration with environmental sciences researcher Vaira Obuka, introduces Kušs, a line of sound absorption panels made from organic-rich lake sediments, sapropel, and natural fibers. These panels are designed to reduce excessive noise in homes, open offices, and public spaces, while also contributing to the improvement of freshwater resources and lake ecosystems.
The essential element of this project is sapropel, a natural resource abundant in Latvia, which, when mixed with natural fibers, creates solid, high-quality materials with excellent sound absorption properties. The panels come in two patterns, allowing for versatile and artistic arrangements on walls, and are designed to be easily mounted without causing damage to the surface.
Extensive research and testing have been conducted to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of Kušs panels, resulting in the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2021 for their outstanding innovation and technical excellence.
