Discover the inspiration, unique features, and technical specifications of the Shield Light
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Xinyi Wu presents Shield Light, a multifunctional floodlight inspired by the European medieval shield. This innovative design aims to provide users with a sense of security and strength while illuminating their surroundings. The Shield Light will be showcased at the Hardware & Tools Show in Cologne and the Light & Building Show in Frankfurt in September 2022.
The Shield Light is a unique combination of a classic medieval European shield and a modern floodlight, offering both historical significance and practical functionality. Made of lightweight aluminum, it is corrosion-resistant and easy to carry, making it suitable for various work environments.
With a width of 239mm, depth of 177mm, and height of 257mm, the Shield Light is designed for ergonomic use. It features a rough leather-patterned surface on the carrying handle, providing a non-slip and anti-rotation grip. The translucent frosted plastic battery compartment cover allows for easy monitoring of the battery status.
The Shield Light is equipped with an on/off button and two brightness adjustment buttons, offering users control over the light output. It is powered by a branded battery adapter and batteries, ensuring long working hours and adaptability to different power sources.
The design team, including creative directors Yi Guo and Minxin Ke, along with designers Wengui Wu and Xinyi Wu, overcame numerous challenges to create a product that seamlessly integrates historical symbolism with modern functionality. The Shield Light has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2023, celebrating its innovative approach to lighting products and fixtures.
