FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Dajeong Jang's "Beyond" hand mirror is a unique take on a traditional item. Inspired by the wing mirror of a car, it challenges users to see themselves in a new light. The mirror features the phrase "You are more than you appear," encouraging users to reflect on their inner beauty. The generous volume shape and protective wood rim make it both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
The mirror is crafted from ashwood with a soap finish and features an acrylic mirror with laser-cut text marking. Measuring 96 Ã 69 x 25 mm, it provides a natural warmth and lightweight feel, making it comfortable to hold and resistant to shock.
The project, which began in July 2020 and concluded in January 2021 in Seoul, involved extensive research and iteration to perfect the design. The "Beyond" hand mirror was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its well-designed, practical, and innovative nature.
