Maxim Kuzin Unveils Fennec, a Unique Hyperboloidal Rotor Wind Turbine
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Maxim Kuzin introduces Fennec, a groundbreaking compact vertical wind turbine that redefines urban wind energy generation. Inspired by the weightless hyperboloid shells of engineer Vladimir Shukhov, Fennec is a fusion of art, machinery, and architecture, designed to breathe life into the surrounding world. The turbine's unique hyperboloidal rotor operates at 60 rpm, ensuring low noise, vibrations, and kinetic threat, making it suitable for urban and rooftop use.
The Fennec Turbine, designed by Maxim Kuzin, Alexey Savchuk, and Dmitriy Kulakov, stands out with its compact size, low noise, high safety, and long-term use. Utilizing waterjet cutting of aluminum sheets and pipes, gluing, and steel CNC milling, the technology behind Fennec sets it apart as an autonomous energy source with zero emissions. The S-size turbine serves as an autonomous energy generator, while the XS-size turbine functions as an ambient light source and kinetic art object, offering interaction through a smartphone app.
Beginning in 2016 in Moscow, the Fennec project has garnered recognition, including the STARTS Prize Honorary Mention in 2018 and support from the educational and mentoring program STARTS in Motion in 2020. The first series of products based on the technology is currently under development, marking a significant milestone in the journey of the Fennec Turbine.
