Andrea Cingoli unveils Totem, a flexible and modular kitchen system designed for modern living, available since February 2022
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Andrea Cingoli introduces Totem, a groundbreaking appliances assembly system inspired by the totem pole, offering a vertical element created by overlapping objects. This innovative system allows for structural and electrical connections, enabling versatile use in various contexts, from offices to motorway restaurants.
Totem's strength lies in its combinable vertical kitchen system, where modules can serve as containers, ovens, extractor hoods, refrigerators, hobs, countertops, sinks, coffee machines, and dishwashers, providing a complete kitchen setup. Its flexibility allows for placement in diverse spaces, from offices to small flats, and the use of devices on multiple fronts.
The product consists of electrified container modules with a metal structure and customizable coating. It is produced through the assembly of modular elements, offering a space-saving and minimalistic solution for modern living.
Andrea Cingoli, along with the design and engineering team, has meticulously crafted Totem to provide users with the freedom to compose their own service tools and integrate the system into any space. The inclusion of a UPS ensures uninterrupted operation, even during blackouts, maintaining the cold chain of food.
The project commenced in February 2019 in Teramo, Italy, and was completed in February 2022, following extensive research on space optimization and user needs in various environments. The design overcame challenges related to adaptability, efficiency, and functionality within a small footprint, resulting in a versatile and efficient kitchen system.
Andrea Cingoli is an esteemed Architect, Designer, and Contractor, known for his innovative designs and contributions to the architectural and design industry. His work has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Iron A' Design Award for Totem in 2022.
