Free Lock: A Revolutionary Luggage Concept by Bruce Tao

Designer Bruce Tao has unveiled Free Lock, a groundbreaking luggage concept designed to address the safety and convenience needs of modern travelers. Inspired by the challenges faced while waiting for transportation and the need to keep luggage secure, Free Lock features a unique handle that doubles as a lock, allowing users to safely secure their belongings in various locations.

Free Lock's innovative design allows users to lock their luggage to a fixed area, such as a seat or handrail, providing peace of mind while resting or using the restroom. The luggage is constructed using durable ABC+PC material with aluminum metal protection on the corners, ensuring impact resistance and high toughness. With dimensions of 48.5cm x 38.5cm x 84cm, Free Lock offers ample storage space while prioritizing user safety and convenience.

Bruce Tao's Free Lock project commenced in April 2019 in Anhui and was completed in May 2019, with an exhibition in Shantou in June 2019. The design was driven by extensive research, including surveys highlighting the challenges faced by travelers at airports and stations. The Free Lock project overcame various creative and technical challenges, resulting in a well-crafted solution that meets the professional and industrial requirements of the travel accessories sector.

Bruce Tao, a prominent figure in the industrial design space, has been recognized with numerous domestic and international design awards. His commitment to promoting industrial design in China and supporting design students has earned him a stellar reputation in the industry. Additionally, Bruce Tao's Free Lock design was honored with the Iron A' Design Award in the Fashion and Travel Accessories category in 2020, further solidifying his position as a leading innovator in the field.
