Introducing The Finn, a stemmed whiskey glass designed by Tiago Russo to elevate the nosing and tasting experience, merging science and design to alter the ethanol effects and fully enhance the flavors.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Designed to revolutionize the whiskey tasting experience, The Finn stemmed glass is the result of 18 months of scientific research. It alters the ethanol effects by absorbing it through the glass properties, enhancing nosing and flavors.
The Finn's unique design plays on gravity and geometry to enhance the absorption of ethanol vapour into the soda-lime glass, creating a chamber for the vapour to be transferred to, while the thick base allows a comfortable grip without heating the liquid.
Constructed from soda-lime glass, The Finn's amorphous molecular structure readily absorbs ethanol vapour, promoting a liquid flow that facilitates ethanol absorption, allowing the drinker to appreciate the full complexity of flavor and layers of taste.
The Finn glass triggers a swirl upon liquid entry, spinning the ethanol down to the base and out to the sides, where the vapour can be absorbed into the walls. The bulb arches in a chicane-like curve, slowing the movement of the ethanol, allowing for optimal absorption.
Developed and tested over 18 months, The Finn glass was a revolutionary exercise that led to a full product development, aiming to revolutionize not only the whiskey market but also the perception of such spirits to its core.
Extensive scientific studies and design techniques were employed to create a product that dissipates the ethanol effect in the drink, leaving only the pure whiskey notes to scent and taste.
The Finn glass was designed to allow the drinker to taste and nose the whiskey, carefully conceived to enhance the whiskey tasting experience, ensuring the drinker can detect every layer of flavor and aroma.
