Introducing Ovo Melody, a unique musical toy designed by Marco Guariglia to bring the joy of music to visually impaired individuals, while also providing entertainment for all ages.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Marco Guariglia introduces Ovo Melody, a revolutionary musical toy designed to cater to the needs of visually impaired individuals, while also providing an enjoyable musical experience for users of all ages and backgrounds. Inspired by a classic infant toy, Ovo Melody allows users to create and play music by placing different nodes on tracks, offering a unique and interactive way to enjoy music.
What sets Ovo Melody apart is its ability to cater to visually impaired individuals, with braille notation and movable square locators on instructional cards, enabling them to find and play musical notes. The toy features a base with different instruments, such as trumpet, piano, and guitar, offering a diverse musical experience. The project, which began in Taipei in 2019, is set to be completed by December 2020.
The Ovo Melody toy operates using a ball with a magnetic sensor and nodes with varying magnetic strengths, allowing the ball to recognize different musical scales. The data is transmitted to the base station via Bluetooth, enabling the toy to play music based on the user's input. With dimensions of 300mm x 80mm x 390mm, Ovo Melody is designed to be accessible and user-friendly for individuals of all ages.
Recognizing the need for entertainment during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ovo Melody aims to provide a source of joy and creativity for individuals spending extended periods at home. The project has been recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Toys, Games, and Hobby Products category in 2021, highlighting its innovative and practical design that meets professional and industrial standards.
