Eclipse Bar Cabinet by Kanttari: Award-Winning Fusion of Art Deco Elegance and Modern Functionality

Kanttari, the renowned Latvian furniture design house, has been honored with the prestigious Silver A' Furniture Design Award 2025 for its Eclipse bar cabinet. Conceived by designer Renats Kotlevs and his team, Eclipse stands out for its seamless integration of timeless Art Deco aesthetics and innovative, user-centric features. The project began in Prague in September 2022 and was completed in Riga in October 2023, where it was unveiled at the Design Isle exhibition to critical acclaim.

The Eclipse bar cabinet is meticulously handcrafted from premium walnut veneer and darkened bronze, with a marble worktop that exudes luxury. Its rounded edges, embedded door handles, and bespoke metalwork reflect a dedication to both form and function. Inside, the cabinet boasts a double carousel for easy bottle selection, velvet-lined drawers, and unique glass hanging holders, providing elegant storage for over 80 glasses. Every detail, from the custom bronze exterior to the innovative organization system, is designed to elevate the home bar experience for discerning collectors.

Kanttari's design process was deeply informed by research and direct engagement with glass collectors, ensuring that Eclipse meets the real-world needs of its users. The team overcame creative and technical challenges to balance historical Art Deco influences with the demands of contemporary living. The result is a sophisticated piece that not only showcases exquisite craftsmanship but also offers practical solutions for storage and display. The Silver A' Design Award recognizes Eclipse as a benchmark of excellence, innovation, and artistic achievement in modern furniture design.
