Kalina Gotseva's "Reusable" foldable cup has earned the prestigious Iron A' Sustainable Products, Projects and Green Design Award for 2025, distinguishing itself as a breakthrough in eco-friendly drinkware. Developed in Bulgaria over a five-year period, the project began with the simple question of how to seamlessly integrate sustainable choices into daily life. The result is a sleek, modern cup that collapses into a compact, pocket-sized form, making it easy for users to carry and reuse wherever they go.

What sets "Reusable" apart is its thoughtful combination of portability, durability, and environmental responsibility. Crafted from food-grade silicone and BPA-free plastic, the cup is both safe and long-lasting. Its unique collapsible design allows it to transform from a full-sized 250 ml cup (87mm wide by 122mm high) into a flat, easily storable shape. This innovation not only provides a practical alternative to disposable cups but also encourages a shift toward sustainable consumption habits by making eco-friendly choices more convenient and stylish.

The design journey involved extensive research, iterative prototyping, and rigorous user testing. Early concepts were explored through paper models and 3D-printed prototypes, allowing the team to refine proportions, geometry, and material thickness for optimal performance. The biggest challenge was achieving a balance between compactness and structural integrity, ultimately solved through repeated testing and material selection. The final product is produced using precision injection molding, ensuring consistency and quality at scale.

By winning the Iron A' Design Award, "Reusable" is recognized for meeting high professional and industrial standards while providing a positive impact on both users and the environment.
