Inspired by firsthand observations of treadmill users struggling with posture and gait imbalances, An developed ABOVE to provide a tailored fitness solution that not only corrects improper form but also enhances the overall workout experience. The system combines a smart mirror, AI coach, and advanced sensors to deliver real-time feedback and customized training programs, setting a new standard for home fitness equipment.

The treadmill features a comprehensive suite of technologies, including cameras and sensors that analyze body size, gait, weight, heart rate, and BMI. The integrated AI coach uses this data to conduct detailed gait analyses and recommend personalized exercise regimens. Users can interact with the AI to design virtual running routes, participate in social workouts, and receive immediate posture corrections during strength training. The smart mirror guides users through exercises, while the workout toolbox and arm aids support a variety of strength routines, all monitored for proper form.

ABOVE's design is both innovative and user-centric, with a focus on accessibility and engagement. The system's intuitive interface allows users to easily track progress, join community challenges, and share tips via the companion app. The treadmill's smart track uses pressure sensors and foot-shaped lights to guide stride and speed, ensuring safe and effective workouts. The project, completed in Seoul between March and June 2024, reflects extensive research into biomechanics, user behavior, and the growing demand for home-based fitness solutions that promote healthy, balanced movement.
